"Malam Temasek"

Event: Singapore 43rd National Day Celebration
Date: 24th August 2008
Time: 7.00 pm
Place: Singapore High Commission in Subok

On Sunday, me&my parents attended this S'pore Community Night. We were thankful that this year's tickets were quite cheap and thus, 3 of us could afford to go together.hehe. The tickets were sold at a subsidized price of $10/person, so have to thank the sponsors for this event^^ This year's National Day celebration was a bit different as it took place at the High Commission with hawker-like foodstalls and casual dress code. It's also the "eat-all-you-can" type as you can eat as much as you like from different stalls. Thus, I think because it is different, there were lot more people who turned up this year and I heard mostly non-Singaporeans.haha. And I only saw a few familiar faces that night.

I remember there were stallholders from Shikai, D'Other Office, Axtivo, and HealthyVege. There were I think 2 more that I don't know from where. Hmmm..anyways when it's time to start eating, everyone rushed and queued up at the stalls but I seriously had a hard time to get the food.lol. So when the people were getting the food, I was busy taking pix and waited til' there weren't so many people queuing.haha. My mom was very happy coz Shikai was there to serve her favourite roasted duck!ahaha. Shikai also had a stall there for promoting their mooncakes and I'd tried one of the mini crystal mooncake. I like it! But they only sell in 1 box (8 pcs) and it's quite expensive for me. I shall think about it again since there's still 3 more weeks before the festival.hehe

Ok..let's get to the pix:

The stalls at the beginning of the buiding and these stalls ran til' the other end of the building.ahaha.

I was kinda sad coz I thought there would be "Mee Rebus" coz almost every S'pore functions that I went had Mee Rebus. I was so excited and craving for it but they don't have. I wonder Millenium or Riverview still have Singapore's Mee Rebus or not. haha.

That night we missed the Olympic's Closing Ceremony...only got to watch the last 20 minutes. But it's good enough coz I love the fireworks at the end!!! Soo nice especially when the bird nest stadium's put out fireworks in the middle and looked very glitter-ish.Wowww! So fast end of Olympics 2008. The next Olympics will be in England in 2012. :)

W♥rld He♥rt D♥y

Hehe...yesterday wanted to blog after I came back from grocery shopping but it was thundering with heavy rain! So was doing some assignments and then looking thru' and organising my box of letters, cards, bookmarks, postcards, and lotsa other things that I collected since young. I realised I need to buy a 2nd box soon coz the 1st box is already very full!hehe.

The other day (Thursday) I wrote about me&Pingie went for a free health check-up at The Mall right? It was actually an event in conjunction of "The World Heart Day 2008" organised by the Ministry of Health. We need to register and wait for our turn but it just took a while. First we checked our weight and height. I am still '149cm' when I thought I would have grown to 150cm at least?!!! What a shorty me.lol. My weight...no need to say you can see from me that I'm 'over'.lol. The medical staff so funny asked me again if I know or not about that. Then we just kept laughing until Pingie who sat over other side also laughed at us.ahaha. Then the medical staff took my blood pressure and it's 'normal'. After that, my blood was taken for blood sugar and cholesterol level test. My blood sugar is a bit 'high' but my cholesterol is very 'low' so the medical staff said I'm ok?hehe. But then actually all these not that accurate coz I ate not long ago before I went for the check-up.lol. After the check-up, we were asked to join the lucky draw by answering a quiz.

My registration number is 888!!! So nice kan?hehe.

On Friday, I had lunch with Tony, Liz and Needa ( all whom came back from UK for holidays). It was my first time meeting Tony since he's back here but he's going back today to UK. already!haha. We had lunch at CheezBox and as usual full house again mainly coz that time the Jordan Basketball team players were there eating as well!hehe.

Tony was curious on how the CheezBox Kolomee would be like so he ordered that. And he said it's quite nice and the wanton is big?hahaha.

Ping Pong

Hmm...this kinda reminded me of Pingie coz she was given the nickname Ping Pong when we volunteered for CSPS that time?ahaha. I just finished watching the Taiwan drama "Ping Pong" (乒乓) on TV. I like the whole drama coz it's quite funny except the really ending part!!! I was really disappointed with the ending coz it's just like that and -the end-!!! Watching the players in the drama playing Ping Pong (Table Tennis), I also feel like learning how to play also! Look soo cool and fun too! I should really ask Pingie's sis Siang Yi to teach me some day. Pingie also interested right?ahaha.

Then just now dinner, Me&Pingie went to McD. Our main purpose actually was to buy Happy Meal and get the FuWa stamp. So we have Plan A and B incase McD didn't have the YingYing FuWa stamp (orange) that we wanted coz they put there NiNi FuWa's picture already. But we just try our luck by asking the staff and when she told us yes they still have, we were soo excited there! After we thought back then we only realised it's quite an embarassing moment.lol.

Ying Ying FuWa stamp is the pic of "Asia" continent and is representing Ping Pong too!!! Then my 1st Olympic Happy Meal I got during 080808 was Huan Huan FuWa (red) stamp :)

Today late afternoon I went out with Pingie and there were just too many happenings...mostly quite funny and embarassing ones especially those happened to me. From Qlap Post Office to The Mall Jollibee to arcade to UG to souvenir shop to the free health checkup and lastly to McD!!!hahaha. Too many so I lazy to blog about it. :)

I took these photos yesterday during dusk coz I think the sky was very pretty at that time coz I like the colors!!!

I-Sweet

Let's see I know there are like I-Walk, I-Sweet, I-Top and I-Salon in Brunei...I wonder if they come from the same family or not.haha. Wanted to blog yesterday but was too tired so went to bed earlier than usual. Am going to be very busy this whole week coz of assignments and work. But good also since I'm very broke now. Luckily this semester only need to buy 1 textbook and 1 photocopied if not I'll be even more broke.haha.

I went to I-Sweet twice in a week. Once with Ling, Yie&Katie when we went Giant for lunch. Then Sunday I brought my mum there coz I know she love these kind of sweet desserts.hehe

I like their "little cafe" ambience :)

Their menu - Cold and Hot desserts. I wish they will have more choices soon^^

Hot Bubur ChaCha ($1.50) that my mom ordered. She said it's nice coz it's not that sweet.

Cold Fungus with Papaya ($1.50) that I ordered. I think it's not bad except the don't know why got a bit bitter taste in the papaya. I wonder Fungus goes with what other kinds of fruits aside from Papaya ah? Coz I love Cold Fungus dessert!

Cold Mango with Sago ($2.50) that Katie&I ordered. It's nice coz I like the refreshing feeling and taste with the sago. But the mango reminded me of Gina Nectar Mango can drink?

HoneyDew Melon with Sago ($1.80) that Aiyie ordered.

Ling bought this cute Winnie the Pooh UNO cards that day when we went to Giant. Then we went back to uni and played UNO before our class.haha. I like so long didn't play UNO already, so was happily playing it.lol

The Eunhyuk when young.ahaha. Mishy ah you should really come visit us in Brunei during your next long holidays yeah?!!.hehe. And I'm beginning to like BreadStop's bread too. ;)
